Helping to promote site safety at Evans Homes’ Regency Place development in Tockwith, two creative pupils from Tockwith Church of England Primary School have claimed the top prizes in a health and safety poster design competition.
The poster competition project was designed to teach children about the importance of health and safety on the Evans Homes development, next door to the school. It started with a recent visit from the school council to the Regency Place site and was followed by a special assembly on health and safety at the school.
In total, fourteen winners from different year groups received certificates and two overall winners were chosen, Alannah, from Year 3 and Amy, from Year 1. They were presented with £25 book tokens as a reward for their well-crafted and thoughtful posters.
Charlotte Poole, Teaching Assistant and Project Co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted Evans Homes asked us to get involved in this exciting poster competition and the children had a great time designing their posters. It is important that our pupils are made aware of the potential dangers of nearby construction sites and our children were extremely creative in their approach to getting their message across.”
Sales Adviser at Regency Place, Sarah Sturgess, commented: “At Evans Homes, we are keen to promote health and safety, as well as teach young children in the local community how to keep themselves and others safe. We would like to thank all the children who took part in our poster competition, and it was a pleasure to work with Tockwith Church of England Primary School. Their total commitment to the project was much valued.”
The winning designs will be made into banners, which will be displayed at the Regency Place development and at the school.
Evans Homes’ Regency Place development currently has a selection of four-bedroom homes available with prices starting from £499,950.
